About

PreMed Tools is a small, independent site built by Viana Safa, a pre-med in Toronto, for people going through the same application cycles.

Why it exists

Most GPA calculators for Canadian applicants either apply one uniform scale to everyone or are a lead magnet for an admissions consultancy. The Ontario schools screen on different numbers: Western on two best full-load years, Ottawa on the last three full-time years, Toronto on full-time courses only. Those rules are public, but nobody was putting them in one place with the actual conversion table behind them. So this site does that, and does it in the browser so that a transcript never has to be uploaded to anyone.

What it is not

  • Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in contact with the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC/OMSAS), the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC/AMCAS), or any university or medical school.
  • Not admissions advice. The calculators encode published rules; the articles describe them in plain language. Neither can tell you whether you will be interviewed.
  • Not a data business. There are no accounts, no analytics, no cookies and no ads. See the privacy page.

How it is paid for

Three paid products, listed on the products page: a clinical hours tracker, an OMSAS ABS builder, and a note-preset pack for physicians who use AI scribes. Articles end with a link to the relevant one. That is the whole business model.

Corrections

Conversion tables and school rules are re-checked against the official pages at the start of each cycle and the check date is printed on each calculator. If you find a mismatch, email [email protected] with a link to the official page and it will be fixed.
